With over 3 million lights and 75+ spectacular displays providing colourful visuals, Niagara Falls will be transformed into a twinkling winter wonderland along the Niagara Parkway, Dufferin Islands and across the tourist districts. Visitors to this popular annual event can bundle up and walk or drive through the Festival route to explore the outdoor, self-guided experience and warm up indoors with 40 nights of free family entertainment options.

The Festival transforms Niagara Falls into a magical winter wonderland with millions of lights and larger than life illumination displays along the Niagara Parkway and across the city's tourism districts. An annual tradition for many, it's the perfect getaway to get in the holiday spirit, reconnect with friends and family, and explore Niagara Falls in the winter months. The icy Falls are even more beautiful after dark with the nightly Falls Illumination!

From 3D moose to a giant gingerbread house and pathways of illuminated trees, the Festival route will have you discovering a new favourite display at every turn. We introduced 20 new displays in 2020 and we added 8 more fun displays this year!

The Niagara Falls Winter Festival of Lights Hot Chocolate Trail

Warm up this winter season with a hot beverage while exploring the Niagara Falls Winter Festival of Lights. This new self-guided trail will lead you to delicious stops of chocolatey concoctions created by chocolatiers, chefs and mixologists at some of the area's excellent restaurants and bake shops across Niagara Falls. From classic combinations with mint, orange and s'mores to inventive cocktails like a Velvet kiss or a Dirty Snowman featuring unique homemade ingredients like flavoured marshmallows and even eyeball gummies, this new trail has 17 stops with 23 unique and delicious flavours to sip and savour (both non-alcoholic and alcoholic options).
