See Buffalo Courier regarding this article. Jan 2. 1869, Niagara Falls new suspension bridge was formally opened.

The bridge is the largest single span in the world

I found this while I was tracking General Samuel Keefer's life.

Is this omitted for a reason?

Thank you for your enquiry. Unfortunately, the author of the book, George Seibel passed away several years ago. Mr. Seibel was also at the time the official city historian. Therefore. I am not sure why it was omitted and the possible reasoning for it to be left out. Have a great day.

Bridge #10 (The Michigan Central one) still had trains running over it around the early or mid 1990s. They stopped running over it when CP Rail sold some of their right of way, which crossed at the top of Clifton Hill, for the construction of the first casino on the Ontario side.
