We celebrate Thanksgiving the second Monday of October, the same day as the American Columbus Day. Thanksgiving is notably one the prettiest of seasons in Niagara especially if you’re a ‘leafer’. The Niagara Parkway is considered to be one of the most impressive routes in Canada with its spectacular splash of brilliant yellows and rich reds of some of Canada’s best Fall foliage that is at its peak end of September to late October.
Be amazed by the transition to fall as you walk, jog or cycle on the Niagara River Recreation Trail. You’ll enjoy breathtaking views complemented by bold, orange, red, and gold hues of the trees that surround you on this trail that runs from Fort Erie to Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Take in the stunning Fall colours from above with Niagara Helictopers, from the observation deck of the Skylon Tower or from the Niagara SkyWheel on Clifton Hill.
Many of our water attractions like Niagara City Cruises and Whirlpool Jet Boat Tours are still open in the Fall, and the weather is fantastic!
Autumn is also harvest season so take some time to explore Niagara's wine country or some of the amazing Niagara Falls restaurants that feature locally grown ingredients.
Bring a light jacket or sweater for those cooler days. There are so many things to do, events, wineries, great restaurants, and shopping. If you haven’t visited Niagara Falls during Thanksgiving, then you need to!
