Over the course of his illustrious career, Brazilian singer and songwriter Sergio Mendes has recorded more than 35 studio albums, many of which have achieved gold or platinum status. Mendes pioneered his music from the foundations of bossa nova with the likes of Antonio Carlos Jobim and the iconic group Brasil ’66, a group that defined the era of Latin-pop. His collaborations with jazz legends Cannonball Adderley and Herbie Mann helped Mendes create the chart-topping adult contemporary hit "Never Gonna Let You Go," and the Oscar-nominated theme song “Real in Rio” from the animated hit film Rio.
Don’t miss your chance to see Sergio Mendes October 2-4 at the Avalon Theatre. Tickets go on sale Friday, June 2 at 10 am.
